When searching for a job or internship, use a variety of methods; don't limit yourself! Sources of job and internship leads are plentiful -- common ones include: - University career services e*recruiting systems
- Your college advisor or faculty
- Local or regional newspapers
- Friends and family
- Professional associations
- Referrals from colleagues or professional networks
- Job posting web sites -- general (e.g., CareerBuilder) or industry focused (H-Careers)
Don't limit yourself to only using one method or searching only one web site. There are MANY, MANY reputable web sites available to anyone looking for a job. Several sites offer suggestions on developing a résumé, tips for interviewing, and other professional development advice. Be careful, though, because some sites also offer services that have charges associated with them, which can get costly. As with much of life, read carefully!
Listed below are many general job search web sites; they cover a multitude of disciplines and industries, and usually list a variety of levels of positions (i.e., not just entry level). - The HIRE System serves OSU students and alumni looking for full time jobs, internships, and co-ops and also serves employers looking for OSU talent.
